This southern Europe Island nation is an archipelago which includes the islands of Malta, Gozo and Comino with a number of other smaller Islands. There are 316 sq kilometres to explore, along with superb beaches and relics of the past to visit. If you like diving Malta has been voted the third best diving destination in the world by Diver Magazine. Malta is located south of the Italian Island of Sicily. Malta itself was part of Britain until 1964 when this Island nation achieved independence.
Malta has many amazing locations and activities for that romantic weekend you are looking for. The Valletta Waterfront is a gateway to Malta's Capital City- Valleta. This beautiful location will have you spellbound. Other romantic areas would be Mdina, various spots in Gozo (from the Citadel to typical villages to breathtaking landscapes and the most famous beach in Gozo - Ramla l-Hamra or Ramla Bay) The old streets of Vittoriosa are a must.
